Call of Duty: World at War

The Story mode has two campaigns, one with the U.S. Marine Corps fighting the Japanese army in the Pacific, and the other in the wake of the Soviet Red Army in the face of Eastern Europe near the end of war. A part of a standard titled "Makin Raid" shows an Allied prisoner of war being tortured by the Japanese before his throat slit by a katana. The player's character witnesses to this scene and was later rescued by U.S. Marines to liberate the camp. Two other levels were later revealed by IGN: one involves the player using the machine guns in a PBY Catalina to attack a Japanese naval fleet, and another shows the start of the campaign in Russia. At that level, the Russian player and a sniper attack on German troops under the cover of a bombing.

Call of Duty: World at War is a first-person shooter and the last installment in the Call of Duty series of games. Moving from the establishment of modern CoD4, in World War II is in the eastern Pacific and the theater before the Second World War. The violence is out of the charts: a vision of the Second World War has never seen before! Gone are the color gray, gritty and sanitized violence. In their place are vibrant colors, gushing gore, language and intense. World at war also extend to Call of Duty 4's award-winning online multiplayer with new, drivable vehicles, and a host of the Second World War lethal weapons of the era (including a flamethrower, the Tommy gun, and the world the first true assault rifle).
