"A WWII game the likes of which you've never seen" - IGNOperation Market Garden was an attempt to destroy Nazi Germany before Christmas, 1944
The plan was ambitious - is the largest invasion airborne in the history of the world. It is planned to capture through a corridor of Netherlands through the drilling German lines. Paratroopers of the 101st Airborne and other divisions fell from the sky in mid-September to celebrate and take advantage of the corridor by surprise. The surprise attack was a bust. Hitler's best units were in the area and immediately counter-attacked and crushed the corridor. The Alliance of paratroopers who fought there and lost brothers in arms, became the corridor known as Hell's Highway.
It was the last major Nazi victory. It was a hell for Sgt. Baker and his squad.
